Fat Boy

This is a new nick name I have given to William.  We have been trying to 'beef him up' in the past month or so.  Sadly, it is very common for kids who come to Chad under the age of 2 to loose a significant amount of weight because of constant diarrhea.  Thankfully, a baby like William, that is only breastfed, is less likely to get sick.  On the other hand, someone like Noa who puts everything in her mouth, and plays all day in the dirt, and sucks her thumb and so on has a high chance of getting sick, like she has been for the past week.  Thankfully she is still eating well, and hasn't lost any weight.  We, like every other family here, will try to eliminate any know causes for this kind of sickness.  This means drinking only filtered water, bleaching fruit and veggies before eating them, washing hands, and ultimately praying that God will keep them from getting sick and losing too much weight.  Thankfully at this point it looks like the only thing William has lost is his neck!
