Tea Time

Ever since Eliana was little she has had a fascination with tea parties.  Many birthdays have been celebrated in our house with a tea party where all the girls, and the occasional boy, came dressed in their fanciest attire and enjoyed tea and cupcakes.  Eliana also began collecting tea sets a few years back and though she had to leave most of them behind, she was able to bring her miniature tea set with her to Chad.  Yesterday she asked me if she could have a tea party with the girls at the place where we are staying.  I told her that it was fine, but I wasn't going to be able to help with the preparations or clean up, so she would have to do everything herself.  So today James found a simple recipe for scones and she along with two other 9 year old girls made scones, set the table, dressed in their best dresses, and enjoyed a lovely tea party outside.  It's amazing how tea is something that common in almost every culture.
