Coffee Tables
This blog post is a bit outdated as I wrote it in the middle of our time in Minneapolis, but didn't ever publish it. That just shows how crazy things were getting. Not sure why it didn't get put on, just didn't.
The only time we have ever owned a coffee table was before we had kids, and shortly after Eliana was born. James owned a funny glass coffee table when we were married that became very entertaining when Eliana was a baby since she didn't understand why she could see things through the glass, but couldn't touch them. After about a year, we decided maybe it wasn't a good idea to have an all glass coffee table with little kids running around it. After that, we never had a coffee table in our living room, and after the month we have had with the coffee table in our apartment, I am convinced that we can live without one for the rest of our life. Tonight we had 'major head injury number two' on the cofee table. John Hardy was laying under the coffee table and when he came out in somewhat of a whirlwind fashion, he hit his eye on the corner of the other end table and cut a gash on his eyebrow. Unfortunately, James didn't have the necessairy supplies to put the three stitches in, or he would have done them at home again. The first incident was right when we moved in, and Noa was accidentally pushed by one of her sisters and banged her forehead on the corner of the coffee table. We decided to go the 'Krazy Glue' route with that injury, and all she has to show for it is a tiny scar now. Not to mention other minor injuries and countless times we have had to wash the crayon markings off the table. Hopefully we won't have any other 'run-ins' with the coffee table while we are here.
