Homeschool and Politics
Last week we joined the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), so that in different places we can be informed and prepared to take the necessary steps to be following the appropriate homeschooling laws. The HSLDA does a great job of keeping homeschoolers informed about the latest news, and the possible laws that might hinder homeschooling. The first week I got their newsletter,I read an article about the government's intention to take over parental education rights for disabled children. They claim to be able to guarantee the rights of all disabled children so that each one of them would have every educational opportunity, but at the same time they give Uncle Sam the right to veto the parent if the parent denies these services.
First our country tells us that we should not have disabled children to begin with, and if we choose to let them live, the government wants to tell us how we should raise them. I fear the direction we are going as a country! These are the kind of things that are fueling my prayers for the upcoming election! Life, Liberty, and the Persuit of Happiness!
See more about the article here, or join HSLDA for yourself.
