Race Day
Race Day started off with a line up of the contestants, and each car was judged for creativity. The winners of the "beauty contest" were: Eliana, who had a fish car with a mermaid driver, second went to Seth Schrader with a crazy car, and third place went to Elliana Schrader who had a "Swan Mobile".
Next came the 'weighing in'. Each car was only allowed a certain amount of weight, and the kids filled their empty cars with things like bolts, locks, or sand to make them sail down the tracks faster.
After that Brian made up a double elimination bracket in which the kids drew numbers to fill. After everyone had their name in a slot, the races began.
Each car had to lose twice to be eliminated, and after all the racing, the winners were, 3rd: Seth Schrader, 2nd: Hali and 1st place was awarded to John Hardy.
It was a lot of fun to make the cars, and more fun to race them! We finished the night off with homemade pizza, and carmel popcorn. So that's what we do for fun here in Chad!
