Staying Focused
The theme of our conference this year was Hebrews 12:2:
"...let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God."
It was a great encouragement to spend time with so many people who had all gathered together to encourage one another to keep looking to Jesus. Don't look at the circumstances around you, like soaring temperatures, sickness, apathy, hardship.....but, look away at all those things, and look to Jesus, who began your faith, and will bring it to fulfillment. He is seated at the right hand of God, reigning supremely, and nothing is out of his control. That's who we are looking to when we go back to Chad, and who we will continue to look to the rest of our lives.
And speaking of keeping focused, traveling can be a stressful time with 6 kids. I can't tell you how many times I have counted to 6 this month...getting on and off trains, planes and automobiles with everyone in tow. Below is a photo of us traveling with friends, so that made 4 adults and nine kids...focus, focus focus!
