Field Trips

Durring the summer session, James' class has had a "Sortie", or field trip, about once a week.  Last week's outing was to Drummondville's historic village.  There we got to travel back in time and find out how people in Quebec lived about 100 years ago.  I don't know if it was because my French is getting rusty, or that the people there had a more rural accent (which I found out afterward was part of their 'act'), or the fact that the kids couldn't under a lick of what they were saying, and found it hard to stay in one building long enough to know what was going on...or  a combination of the three... but it was really difficult to stick with the group and get any good conversations in.  All in all, we had a fun time exploring the large village, and found out that the people in Quebec lived a lot like the people in the US did 100 years ago (except for the obvious language difference.)  Here are a few pictures of our field trip.
