Hard to say Goodbye

This is a lesson our kids are beginning to learn...saying goodbye is hard.  At the same time God is also teaching us that there are friends to find around every corner, even in the least expected places.  One blessing about being a travelling family is that we begin to have quite a large network of friends, and our kids find that making new friends is pretty easy, even if you don't speak the same language.
Since the other kids on campus all moved at the end of April, our kids have begun to make friends with the Bible students.  And even thought these 'kids' are college aged, they are always willing to include them in a game of football, or share their blanket in the sun.  The first weekend that our kids were feeling lonely, God showed them his care and provision.  A few trees had been cut down near our home, and since there were now a lot of large logs laying around in our back yard, they decided to have a camp fire that night.  This is something they have been wanting to do for a long time now, and here was a perfect opportunity to make friends.  So that night, our kids sat around the fire with the Bible Students, singing songs and roasting marshmallows and hotdogs.  I think they have spent time with the students every day since then.  I am grateful for their new friends!  And surprisingly, our kids are finding out that there are other families here to play with, and be friends with.  Hopefully the next time when it comes time to say goodbye they will remember that there are always new friends to be made where ever we end up.
