"Welcome to Canada"

That's the usual line I hear when I get into a conversation with someone here in Quebec.  They begin talking in French, I stand there with a blank look on my face, and then try to explain in French/English that we just moved here and are wanting to learn to speak French.  It's usually followed by "Welcome to Canada".  The people are all very friendly, and sadly, almost everyone speaks a little English.  Hopefully I won't be getting this same line just before it's time to move.
