Getting Mad...

...it's something that is all too familiar to us at the Morgan house.  Probably something that is familiar to everyone reading this post.  It's just part of our nature, part of our sinful reality.
This weekend we attended a retreat for people planning to work overseas, that focused on how to deal with conflict.  We got to hear seasoned workers share their own personal conflict stories and then they let our groups come to a conclusion or resolution.  It was so easy... everyone agreed and had fun joking about the situations, wondering what those crazy people got all bent out of shape about.  NOT.  In fact, it was interesting to see even our own emotions get wrapped up in these situations that we were not even a part of.  On top of this, James and I apparently thought we needed a trial run to see how we were processing all the information we were receiving, so what did we do on the way to the session this morning?  You guessed it, we had a lovely argument.  Amazing how a little stress, some noisy children in the back seat, too little sleep and being late can launch you into a total self absorbed argument.
Thankfully, no harsh words were said, no voices were raised, just a small disagreement to remind us that we are human and constantly needing Jesus to interviene in our lives!  By the time we showed up at the retreat (40 minutes late), I had come to the same conclusion they had.  You can't avoid conflict, but you can learn how to handle it with grace!  Makes me excited for a time when we will be living and working close enough to our team members that we can get into some real live disagreements, and shower each other with grace!
