Is Our Church Healthy?
As Americans, we think it is normal to go to our favorite Family Practice Physician, and get our yearly physical to make sure we are healthy. But how many of us think about the 'health' of our church, or ever stop to take a pulse check on how our church is doing? Recently I was reading something that mentioned 5 marks of a healthy church, and it got me thinking.
The 5 purposes that a healthy church should carry out:
1. Worship
2. Evangelistic and "Outreach"
3. Education and Discipleship
4. Ministry
5. Fellowship
Do we as a church exhibit these characteristics, and if not, what are we doing about it?
Personally I find it easy to think that it is someone else's job to make sure that our church is doing what it should be, but based on Eph 4:15-16, and many other passages, we are all responsible for the overall workings of the body of Christ

"Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way to him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with wich it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love."So what are you doing to maintain the spiritual health of your church?
