life in the mundane

It's just been another average week, nothing special going on.  Thank God for the mundane!  Here is a little verse from Valley of Vision (p.109), that I pray would drive my daily tasks, when one day looks like all the rest:

"Keep me from sinking or sinning in the evil day;
Help me to carry into ordinary life portions of divine truth
and use them on suitable occasions, so that
     its doctrines may inform,
     its warnings caution,
     its rules guide,
     its promises comfort me."

 And then there's the occasional surprise waiting me when I come home from the weekly grocery trip: 

So that's what my husband does with my kids while I'm away!
