Operation Christmas Child in Chad
Have you ever heard of Operation Christmas Child? Perhaps you have packed a box or two full of goodies for a boy or girl to be carried around the world and given to them in the name of Jesus. It was always a joy for our kids to pick out gifts and send them off, wondering if they would ever hear from that boy or girl. After we sent them off with the other packages, we didn't really think much about where they went, or how they got there, because there wasn't really any way of knowing. This past week as some fellow workers were coming through our town, we found out that they had the privilege to distribute the packages for Operation Christmas Child in Chad. They were taking boxes of gifts to their village to pass out to kids there. Yes, it's April already, but that's OK, most kids don't even know what Christmas is, much less that it's celebrated in December. All they know is that some kind person on the other side of the world thought they were important enough to send a package all the way across the ocean to them. And hopefully this speaks volumes of the love of Jesus!
