The Weather

The weather is one of the biggest things we are going to have to adjust to living in Africa. Right now, at the end of March in Minnesota, it is getting up to about 30* F and lows in the teens. Our friends said it is hitting 120* F in Chad now, and will remain in the 120's for the next three months. Yikes...hard to imagine the 90-100 degree difference halfway around the world. Thankfully we were able to visit in the 'cold season' as you can see by the picture. It was beautiful and ranged from 60*-100* F.

When praying through this obstacle before considering Chad, this psalm kept coming to mind. May the Lord use it to reassure us of his calling when we are experiencing it for real!

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
(Psalm 121 ESV)
