Subtle Things I Miss....

There are things about Chad I miss right away like, the warm sun, our house, and the daily rhythm of life that makes things seem normal.  

But there are other more subtle things that I miss which have surprised me. 

The daily noise:

here its traffic and airplanes and ambulances

there it's donkeys, chickens, ladies talking and the constant rhythmic pounding of millet

The smells: 

here it's hand soap, cleaning solutions, coffee, cold air

there it's dirt, chai, peanuts, perfume (lots of it) and animals

The people passing by:

here it's people going by, busy, focused, texting

there it's people meandering, bargaining, calling out to the white lady to come buy some vegetables

The clothing

here is's pale, blue jeans, grey and black suits

There it's bold, colorful, flowing in the breeze

 I love being able to fully enjoy both of them!!!
