a glimpse of the future

This weekend we had a wonderful opportunity to get to know some of our future teammates.  Technically, they are already on our 'team', but the reality of living and working together is yet to be realized.  So many questions to ask, and so much to talk about, but the best part was just sitting, playing with each other's kids, and enjoying the time of 'togetherness'.
One of the worship songs this Sunday reminded me to be thankful for this time...

 "You are God alone,
     from before time began,
     you are on your throne,
     you are God alone.
   And right now,
     in the good times and bad,
     you are on your throne,
     you are God alone."

As we talked about the friendship that has been thrust upon us, and the dependence upon each other that we know will come with moving to the middle of nowhere together, we were struck with the thought that these are the people who will walk with us in the 'good times, and bad times'.  I am glad and thankful for who they are.
