Every time we go to N'Djamena one of the things we do is check out the new Presidential Palace. Apparently the old one was not new enough or nice enough, so for the past year they have been working on a new one. Until recently we have not been able to see anything - it was all under construction, but on our last trip we finally saw the outside walls. Part of the difficulty of getting pictures is that you have to do it while driving by. The guys with machine guns don't like you stopping in front of them for a picture!
