Happy Birthday Eliana!

Though the blog post is coming two months late, we didn't forget Eliana's 12th Birthday.  We had a grand celebration in the capital city with another family who happened to be there at the same time.  We wanted to surprise her so we acted as if nothing special was going on and asked her to go on some errands with James for the morning.  We put up flags and banners on the roof veranda, and made a cake and popcorn.  We had everyone sneak upstairs and wait until she returned.  Eliana usually has a special way of finding out about surprises, but this time she had no idea.  She was thrilled when we all came out and yelled "surprise!"  Then we played party games, some old (musical chairs) and some new (a favorite of Stephanie's we'll call 'Dutch Unwrap').  Lastly, since it was our two families celebrating together, we put together a game of family feud.  It was hilarious and surprising to see different members of the family (especially the younger ones) answer questions.  I think it was a celebration she will remember for years to come.
